Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Team Leader with NRSWA authorisation to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a Civil team in the installation of high-voltage and low-voltage cables, ensuring compliance with NRSWA regulations and industry standards. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to safety.Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of civil technicians in the safe and efficient installation of high voltage and low voltage cables.
• Ensure compliance with NRSWA regulations, health and safety guidelines, and company policies.
• Plan and organise civil works, including excavation, trenching, cable laying, backfilling, and input with reinstatement activity.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Manage resources, equipment, and materials effectively to optimise productivity and minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records, including work schedules, photos, progress reports, and documentation of completed works.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards, implementing appropriate safety measures.
• Liaise with the Supervisor and or Project Manager regarding street works permits and open and close notices.Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil work related to electrical distribution, including cable installation.
• NRSWA authorisation is essential, with a comprehensive understanding of NRSWA regulations and codes of practice.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage and low voltage cable installation techniques and best practices.
• Experience in leading and supervising a team in a construction or utilities environment.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Sound understanding of health and safety principles, with relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS, First Aid, Manual Handling).
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Electrical Distribution Low and High Voltage Jointers

Job Description:
To carry out all aspects of cable jointing activities, whilst sometimes working in challenging weather conditions. Have an excellent understanding of cable jointing practices, and the importance of safety focus whilst carrying out work. We are ideally searching for DNO-trained jointers (UKPN desirable), but the job is not limited to this, and we would be prepared to train and develop currently qualified cable jointers who do not have any DNO experience or authorisation.Responsibilities:
• Perform (live LV) jointing and terminations of LV and or HV electrical cables for both underground and overhead distribution systems and assets.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and other electrical assets.
• Carry out inspections and tests on electrical equipment and cables to identify and resolve faults or prove safe to connect to the distribution network.
• Work with a team of skilled operatives and engineers to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the distribution network.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during work execution.Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Distribution Jointer, with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor and sometimes challenging environments.
• Proficient in the jointing and termination of LV and or HV cables for both underground and overhead systems.
• Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, equipment, and components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to and understanding of safety practices in the workplace.
• Clean UK fully comprehensive driving license.
• Regular drug and alcohol tests will be mandatory, and you will have to pass a test on your company induction.
• Hold, or previously held a UKPN authorisation for cable jointing at a particular voltage. (Desirable)
• City and Guilds 2332 or similar (Desirable)
